About
What this site is for
A reference for Social Security payroll and benefit parameters that answers one question first: what does this number mean for me?
Why it exists
Every October the Social Security Administration publishes next year's parameters. Most coverage reports the headline number and stops. The people searching for it want three different things: the exact figure, what it does to their paycheck, and whether something they saw online is true. This site is built around those three questions rather than around articles.
How the numbers are kept accurate
- Every figure comes from a primary source: an SSA fact sheet, the contribution and benefit base series, the PIA formula page, the Trustees Report, or an IRS release.
- Each page shows the date the figures were last checked.
- A build-time check compares the data file against the published values and fails if any number drifts. The same check recomputes every derived figure — maximum tax, monthly earnings limits — from its formula.
- Calculators run entirely in your browser. They use the published formula, not a black box.
The methodology page documents each formula, assumption and rounding rule.
What this site does not do
- It does not access your earnings record or your benefit statement.
- It never asks for your Social Security number.
- It does not provide tax, legal or investment advice.
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Social Security Administration or any government agency.

confirmed against a primary source are published with a date in the changelog.
