Nine calculators, one data set
Each tool uses the 2027 SSA parameters on this site, runs in your browser, and shows the formula behind the result. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
| Tool | Key figure | What it answers |
|---|---|---|
| Paycheck impact | $483.60 | What the 2027 wage base changes on your pay, and when withholding stops. |
| Benefit estimator | $2,644 | Turn a salary into a monthly benefit at 62, full retirement age or 70. |
| COLA calculator | 3.6% | What your current check becomes in January 2027. |
| Self-employment tax | 12.4% + 2.9% | The 92.35% base, the Social Security cap, and the deductible half. |
| Medicare vs Social Security | No cap | Why one tax stops at $192,300 and the other never does. |
| Earnings test | $25,560 | How much of your benefit is withheld if you work before full retirement age. |
| Benefit taxation | 0 / 50 / 85% | Provisional income against the fixed $25,000 and $34,000 thresholds. |
| Benefit cut scenario | 78% | What a trust-fund depletion scenario would do to a monthly check. |
| Wage base projection | 2028–2030 | Three wage-growth scenarios, clearly labelled as projections. |
Start with the number itself
The 2027 wage base is $192,300. If you earn less than the 2026 base of $184,500, none of the annual change affects your paycheck at all. That single comparison answers most visitors' first question.
Then the date
Payment dates are set by birth day, not by when you applied. Use the payment schedule for the exact date, including holiday shifts.
